What to wear to your photoshoot….and how we can help!

“I don’t know what to wear for my photoshoot” …… is probably the most common thing I hear from clients. When it comes to photoshoots, the right outfit can make all the difference. Whether your shoot is for a special occasion, headshots for your business, or a boudoir shoot, your clothing plays a huge role in the final outcome but it doesn’t have to be as complicated as we think. Sometimes the most simple outfit can make you look amazing. Here are some tips and advice to help you choose the perfect outfit for your next photoshoot and read to the end to find out how at db portraits we have it all taken care of.

Dress in clothing that makes you feel confident and comfortable.

This is the most important thing to keep in mind when choosing an outfit for your photoshoot. If you're not feeling good in what you're wearing, it's going to show in the photos. So, wear something that makes you feel great, whether that's your favourite dress, a suit, or simply your favourite pair of jeans & t-shirt.

Opt for simple, classic styles.

When it comes to styles, simple and classic is always a safe bet. A well-fitted suit or dress, a button-up shirt, or a simple sweater are all great options.

Choose solid, neutral colours.

Solid, neutral colours are typically the best choice. They provide a clean and classic look, and they don't distract from your face and features. Black, white, and grey are all great options, but you can also choose other neutral colours like beige, navy, or even pastels if you want a softer look. Avoid clothing with bold patterns or bright colours, as they can be distracting in photos. You can also discuss with your photographer what colour of backgrounds they have available and coordinate your outfits by choosing contrasting colours.

Bring a variety of options

It's always a good idea to bring a variety of options, so you can change up your look during the session. This will give you a variety of looks to choose from and will also allow the photographer to capture different sides of you.

Choose good fitting underwear

Choosing the right underwear for your photoshoot is just as important as choosing the right outfit. Not only does it provide a smooth and seamless look under clothing, but it can also affect your comfort and confidence during the shoot.
